First Lady Evangelist Gibbs a native New Yorker, was born one of six children to Dr. Geneva E. Vaught and to the late James A. Vaught, Sr.  She grew up in the Church of  God in Christ and gave her life to God at a very early age.  Not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, Evangelist Gibbs brought many young people to her church after witnessing to them at school. As a teenager she was a member of the Youth for Christ Crusaders under the leadership of Evangelist Gwendolyn Redd Washington and her sister, Evangelist Christal Vaught Ferguson, the local president.  This powerful group of young people took the Gospel of Jesus Christ to people on the streets of New York, sang and witnessed at a women’s prison, at group homes and at nursing homes.  As a young woman, she worked alongside of the older Missionaries and Evangelists at her local church.  She accompanied the Missionaries to visit the sick; sang at street Revivals and passed out tracks.  When Evangelist Gibbs relocated to the Washington, DC area with her husband, Elder Garry Gibbs, she continued ministering in the church in various capacities such as a Sunday School Teacher, Choir Director, Praise and Worship Leader, Nursing Home Ministry and working with the Missionary/Evangelist Board.  Her ministry includes mentoring and counseling young women and speaking at retreats and women’s conferences. Evangelist Gibbs has a great passion for those who are hurting.  She meets the needs of others both spiritually and naturally through intercessory prayer, through visiting and cooking meals for the sick and/or bereaved, and providing for material needs.  She does not hesitate when it comes to meeting the needs of others.  She is never too busy to share a word of encouragement or to agree with someone in prayer. Evangelist Gibbs received her religious training at the O.M. Kelly Religious Training Institute and the Charles Harrison Mason Bible College.  She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology/Paralegal Studies and is employed with the IRS as a Paralegal Specialist. She is the proud mother of two sons, Garry R. Gibbs II and Joseph I. Gibbs.   (C) Berean Ministries Berean Ministries Berean Ministries Berean Ministries Berean Ministries Berean Ministries Berean Ministries Berean Ministries Berean Ministries Berean Ministries 531 Ritchie Road Capitol Heights, MD 20743 (240) 305-2309 bereanministriescogic@gmail.com
